Need garden waterfall advice.

So we have a small pond in the back and my mom has wanted to expand a bit for a while now and I would like to gain some "landscaping" experience. However, I have yet to see a waterfall that would tie in together with what we have in mind (or maybe I can't see it tonight), so I need some advice on what you think would look the best. The waterfall will be on a berm (but there will be a lot of ground cover and new trees going in so don't worry  ) This is what we have in mind, only not to this scale:  Thanks, yet again DR!

put it on paper, draw your ideas as many as you can conceive. Kinda like gesigning your own track, lol.

My wife keeps trying to make me build a waterfall. We live in a desert! Everyone keeps crying about there not being enough water out here, but everyone has nice thick green lawns?
Sorry CR, Is that pic the actual pond or is it an example of what you are trying to build?

Sorry CR, Is that pic the actual pond or is it an example of what you are trying to build?
it's just an example, so I think that anything will work as long as it isn't too dramatic, and I'm going to steer clear of the contemporary waterfalls as those would seem very out of place in our yard.

I like natural stone, And home depot sells the sump pumps. ML is building one at this time.
