I agree with you jdc420. Although this thread is 6 months old and MXgirl711 has not been back sense. When we were at the 24 hour I seem a few girls in different pits doing as much as the men. I gotta say though I have a Kabota.
And welcome to the board. Do you ride a bike?

im a tradesman and i can say that the trades arent what they used to be,id advise that you talk to mechanics of any sort and weigh the pros and cons, find out about work related chronic problems(mechanics back)see if this is something youd still like to pursue.when i started my proffesion i thought it was great but the workload just gets bigger and the paycheck smaller, choose wisely.

We don't live in the 50s anymore, woman have just as much right to be a mechanic as a man, infact, you may even have a better shot, depending on the schools acceptance procedure in diversifying the schools population. Same for companies that hire. I hope I don't sound out of line with that statement to anyone, but it is the truth, so I say go for it!

johndeerechick420: There is NO reason that a girl CAN NOT be a mechanic!!!! I have been working on Engines my whole life and I am now a John Deere Technician. I am THE ONLY GIRL that I know of that is a mechanic. I am 24 and it took me a very long time to pursue my dream of wrenching professionally. It CAN be done!! I am living proof. Men either hate you for being able to rebuild carbs and do valve jobs, or they love you for tearing out trannys and doing engine overhauls. Please don't let the stereotypical people stop you from doing what you love. I have a small engine business of my own and people love it because its different and I'm good at what I do. I want to eventually make a all GIRLS shop either in auto or small engine. If you want to do it, DON'T LET PEOPLE BRING YOU DOWN ( because they will try). There needs to be more girls wrenching!!!!
thats GREAT!!!!!!!!! good 4 you i am happy you got to do your dream, you tried hard and you scuceeded

I have a kdx200 at them moment, but I want other girls to know that there is definitely space in a shop or pit for them. As long as they don't mind the smell of carb spray and varnished gasoline. and as far as your kubota... they are all shitboxes in the end, it doesn't matter what brand it is.
