okay, but he's 16 years old riding a KX125, so it will be in the open C class I assume...and I have a hunting vest I can wear

Paul,

Jamey has tamed down the C class race course quite a bit. The layout of the Saturday race course is such that riders are never farther than 1.5-2 miles from the resort's base area. Of course any racing event can be dangerous, but between the access road infrastructure, the invovlement of the ski patrol on the race course for emergency work, and the ambulance set up at the base, I think we'll be set up well to help anyone unfortunate enough to get hurt.

It's Jamey's call on whether shadow riders will be allowed for the Open C class. My only worry is that shadow riders could get in the way of the racing.

we're only three weeks away I can't wait.  I've got five, maybe six riders from NW Montana coming to the race!  Any word yet on how many riders there will be and if the B classes will each have their own start?

I am not sure how many we are going to have in each class yet.  The start will be staggered by class, AA will start, then 450A, 250A, VetA, etc... With about a minute between the classes.  The same will be true about the B Classes.  If we don't have many in a class, I may combine them at the line, but try to keep the waves relatively small.

Thanks again for getting registered and tell your friends to come!

We lost two riders this week, Aaron to a knee injury and Corey to football.  That section of the trail looks great!

Sorry to hear about the two lost riders Paul!

Reminder to everyone: Pre-registration forms need to be postmarked by Sept 10th in order to receive the $20 entry discount.

Keep in mind that if you don't have you AMA membership yet, you can still send in the registration. AMA memberships will be for sale at registration.

One last reminder. The Saturday Unclassified race will use the Sunday race course. This race is a great way for the Sunday racers to get a preview the course.

thanks pop and alex, you don't know how nervous I can get before a race, and this one is just for the fun of it...anyway I talked to Aaron yesterday, he did tear his ACL which is nasty, going in for physical therapy today I think to get ready for the surgery.  But he has a great attitude about it IMO and is looking forward to the day when he can ride again!  Heard from Josh yesterday, and he has a job (finally) which requires him to work on Sundays so he can't go to the race now.  That leaves just Jim and I, and maybe Matt (KX250) who is living in Bozemon right now for school.  This seems to be what happens whenever we try to plan something.  Oh well.  I hope nothing happens to either Jim or myself in the next week  ...

Saturday Schedule updates: Awards ceremony has been moved to Whiskey Jacks Bar and Grill. Same time/day (Saturday at 6:30pm) located in the Resort's Mountain Mall.

"8 Party Line", a Blue Grass/ Country band will be playing directly after the awards have been handed out.

A DJ will be playing at Scissorbills Saloon later Saturday night.

A family movie will be playing in the Amphitheatre.

Lots to do after the first day of racing.

Paul, the only thing you need to worry about is making sure you don't have too much fun on the night before your race.

We just toured a small group of non-racing volunteers on the race course to get their opinions...nothing but smiles after a lap around the course.
