i have a 250 cr that i need help with very nice bike that has been redone looks great been sitting for a while indoors, cleaned carb changed plug good gap will only start if i spray either in carb with a rag halfway covering carb intake.if i dont and just kick and kick wont fire but pull plug its wet, dont make since once i get it warm put air cleaner back on with a shirt over the filter and a nother little filter in it and the air fuel mixture screw completly closed can get it to idle and run but not real good,ir i open the air fuel it shits on itself.while i am kicking it without spraying it fuel comes out of the over flow getting gas right?,then why do i have to spray either in the carb (choke it by covering intake with rag) and plug being wet.i am pretty damn good at getting anything going but this one is making me CRAZY.it has new reeds also they look good no gap between reed and cage any help would be great.

bad compression? there just isn't proper air fuel mixture in the compression to get it to spark? either that or you aren't getting a strong enough spark. check the coil and wiring
