I don't remember hitting my head that hard this time, but I'm not taking any chances. I broke my helmet crashing on fathers day. The damage is not that big, as I broke the visor, and the mouth guard. A lot of my friends would keep using their helmets with this kind of damage. I don't feel like taking any more chances with my head. In my years I have broken 6 hockey helmets (playing hockey of course), 2 cycling helmets, and many crashes in old 70's style helmets. I have been knocked out more times than I can remember. Really most the times I was knocked out I don't remember a thing. hahaha At my age I am already suffering from bad migranes, and occasional dizzy spells. I'm really happy I don't talk slow.
Now I'm in the market for a new helmet. I won't be buying the best out there. Not that I don't want the best. I just can't afford it right now. So if anyone finds a really good deal on helmets please let me know about it. I'm grounded from riding until I get a new one.

i agree its a good idea to replace a helmet after a bad wreck because the foam inside that saves ur head gets compressed on the wreck and dosnt bounce back

you really should consult your doctor and make sure you are healthy enough before having a late night meeting with maples mum.....
seriously, good idea, as craig said the foam crushes etc. (we all know it) and might not show any external damages, etc. etc. etc. i'll keep an eye out.

Nah. I broke those before crashing in some whoops. That hurt much worse than this. I could barely take a breath then. This is more like my insides got squished. My ribs aren't even that sore.

Going for the Chips style huh? Lol. I used one of those up north in the summer. I don't even think DOT would still license that helmet I used. Had like no padding in it..well down the sides. But it worked.
Good luck bro, hope your alright. Find a good one to replace it with. I don't know where you are, but if your in Canada, lemme know, I know of a good place to order from.

That's a scary thing. Concusions (spelling) seem to be a common thing in your life. Be very careful while riding if you can help it, as concusions can lead to some nasty brain problems as you get older. Get yourself a full head shield from the marines, LOL. Shouldn't have any issues.
