That was my last helmet but blue of course. They are great helmets and I beat the crap out of mine. I would definately look into the one industries helmet. Sorry mine was the Kombat, but I still think the trooper is very similar.

Bill I hope your starting to feel better having been laid up before it ....I checked bobscycle they have a helmets of good quality on close out you might check that out.
Right now I have a One Ind Trooper that I got from Bobs for 150.00.  The interior has held up pretty well, two yrs and the padding is starting to compress a little the weight is fairly light.
Kids deal is better than Bobs on the tropper

way to go on setting a good example Bill!  I replace my helmet whenever I've had a bad hit to the head also.  I remember once years ago my brother Steve was involved in a first turn pile-up where his head was run over by another rider.  You could see the tire marks on his helmet afterward.  He kept using that helmet (we weren't aware of the problems with damaged helmets in those days) and in another wreck a couple years later received some pretty severe head trauma.  I think that's when we first realized that helmets should be replaced after one head crash...

See, this is exactly why I wear my sons helmet.  Mine has lasted many years, his looks like crap.
Hope your riding again soon ,Bill.

Thanks to everyone for your support and input.

Kid I love the deal on that helmet but I do not have an Xsmall nor an XXXLarge sized head.  That is the hard part about finding a good helmet deal.  They are always on the odd sizes.

I felt much better today. I was able to move around without much pain and function fairly normally. Still really tender on the inside though.

I guess you can say I lied. I did manage to get out and ride today. Only not on dirt. Went to my parents house tonight and my unle tossed me the keys to his Harley Davidson.  I took it out for a 2 hour cruise. That was a lot of fun. I'll have to get me a street bike one of these days.

The huge windsheild is a life saver when you spend hours on the freeway. As for the tassles....I guess thats just my uncles sense of style.  He did grow up in the eighties. hahaha

What I don't get is the Hypocrasy.  How was I being a hippocrate?

Glad your okay bill! And as paul said good exaple to young riders. Your helmet loses integrity with time as well as crashes. Awhile back i hit a patch of really hard packed with huge rocks with speed and washed my front end and went down hard and REALLY smacked my head hard.
Could have killed me without it.
