it snapped off quit deep sanders. it is in there, as far as i can tell. like i said, i had to walk away from it or i'd snap and throw something. maple, i sent my cylinder out to be fixed, after waiting forever i get everything today, so i put it back together, i took my time, and everything went together well, until i was putting the head on, when i was tightening one of them down it snapped, the bolt went in hard, but not hard enough that i felt it was cross threaded or anything, just felt like it was aligning the head on the cylinder or what have you, anyway, the bolt snapped, kinda twisted off really inside it's hole, right at the top where the threads end. this is a problem because that empty hole is a gateway for my coolant to come flying out.

I know how it feels to break something, just when you think you have finished fixing it! It sucks completely!

That is truly crappy pat. Is there any chance you can talk your mate from the machine shop in to doing a cash job after work for you? This may be a little cheaper for you. Keep boxing on, it'll come right.

thanks kiwi, i've tried 7 different places now, no one will do it, and i guess my friend doesn't work at that particular machine shop anymore, he works at one that does mass production of parts and gears.... there is about maybe a third of an inch of the bolt still sticking up from the cylinder, i cannot get it off with pliers, heated the aluminum around it and everything. nothing is working.

finally, i called a small engine repair shop, a bike shop pretty much, asked them if they could do it, expected a no, i really called to ask them where they would send a cylinder of theirs with the same issue, i got pointed to a place that can do it, it is there now, be done about noon tomorrow. i am replacing all of those bolts, and trying to find some copper or brass washers for them, anyone know anywhere that carries these? home depot doesn't i don't think, i wonder if napa does?

not sure will, can't be to much pretty routine for these guys i imagine, wouldn't take more then 15 minutes for him. and yeah, i haven't seen copper washers in any hard ware store in so long. probably because people nick em for their metal value haha.

we do have a fastenal, in the same town as the shop that has my cylinder. i refrained from going there because they have strange hours and they are a ways out of the way for me, it is an hour drive just to get to this shop i'm going to now. i might be able to get the washers at this shop as this shop is an auto store. it is at a car quest, with an attached machine shop. would an o ring hold up to the heat you think?
