Would you be able to get accurate torque with o-rings? I would not use them on mine.

i dunno, good point. the only thing the o rings or washers need to do is hold back the coolant, there are 2 o rings under my head, and hte bolts go right between them, just happens that the coolant ports and the head bolts are both between those two o rings, and if the bolts aren't sealed the coolant for some reason is getting up and under the bolt caps, not sure how that happens but it is. i'll find some copper washers of correct size, i'd feel better with them, and as you say might not be able to get correct torque with o rings. thanks chud.

haha i know it. i had to get a very strange sized nut for my POS chinese bike once. they had it, took me 3 tries but they just kept saying, take it home, try it and if it doesn't work bring it back and we'll swap it out for another one. good service. but if i remember they were pricey? o well. can't put a price on it. (actually not true)

Sorry to hear about that Pat. You know if I could I would help you get another bike. If you ever get a chance to come down here (ECR?) I'll give you a good offer on my bike. I know it's a pos, but it's not really as bad as I make it out to be especially for what I'll sell it to you for.

i won't make the east coast ride, my parents dislike me riding as it is haha. won't be able to do anything like that till i'm 18, and i'm joining the military then anyway. other then this last set back, which is really not help-able it is mint. just things, little things keep setting me back. if something else happens after this i'll have to get rid of it.
a question. there is loctite in the threads of the cylinder where the head bolts go down. i was told i'd have to us a thread tap to re thread through those?

Your not really re-threading them you are just cleaning the old loctite out so the new will be able to bond properly to the metal.
