Do you have 2 KTMs, I notice one has a pipe guard and one dosen't.
..no no i just remove the guard to lighten the bike and also because the pipe now is 2years old and i dont care too much plus i found the fmf gnarly is strong and dont need too much the guard and also i found the vibrations from pipe go to the mass of heavy moose pipe guard and i think with this bigger mass the forces from vibrations go bigger and with this many hours of work the metal of pipe go tied and start made kracs and pipe leak from some points..i repair /weld/ with "oxy" and when i remove guard, vibrations do not so strong and do not made the kracs also when i drag bike on the ground, pipe without guard is smooth and do not hold to ground and about genuine pipe ..i don like this junk its too soft dent easy and the powerdand also with genuine not so impresiv
i hope you dekode what i mean from my bad english
I DONT KNOW ENGLICH

You and me both kiwi! Yeah, the stock pipe on my KTM cracked and broke on the 2nd year of riding, and this FMF Gnarly is much more stout IMO. It does offer a better powerband too, just as Mit says. I was thinking about getting a pipe guard but now I'm thinking not, with the trouble you've had with yours. In two years I haven't dented my FMF pipe. I really enjoy this thread Mit.

Awesome stuff....Thanks for posting. I thought I was sick into this stuff but now I am humbled (this often happens to me, being a bald headed, middle aged sailor with large fore arms)
Looks like you keep the KTM running up to peak by perforing quality maintenance...the very kind of used bike I look for.
Keep it up
