well i put it on the edge of the filter it shouldn't damage or anything right? And no i mean grease i pump out of it and put on the chain and spread, it's not a spray and i find it works great for my chain.

Well, ummm, Really need to know what your using!!!  Bearing grease is okay for the seal Red /Blue. But NOT on your chain!!!

I m not sure if it's bearing grease but we did use the same grease for the wheel bearings but i'll go aks my dad what kind of grease it is now.

yeah it is not the "real" stuff for the chain but it's still good for the chain it can't hurt the chain it's just to have it nice and wiht grease so it won't rust to.

Bearing grease won't hurt your chain, but it wont stay on it very long either.  Even if it did it would attract a lot of dirt. You want to buy a good chain specific lube the will apply wet and then dry up.  It will stick to your chain better even with the high centrifugal forces and it wont stick to dirt as much.  The best chain lubes repel water too.

If the airboot rubber is hard then it is no good.  It needs to be supple to get a good seal by flexing into all the little crevices. Any cracks in rubber are a big sign of aging and that the rubber needs replacing.

i find the grease doesn't attract that much dirt but i ushally grease the chain after every wash which is after every ride or after every second ride. The boot has cracks in it is probably been on there since 2002, i ordered one for 60$ from my local dealer. With the new boot do you think air should not get in as much and water etc. We also sprayed the gaskets for the reed valve to seal it up nicely.
