Was hoping to meet up with spazmoso but he had to work so I only rode for 2-3 hours. Didn't really like the terrain. Too much gravel and sand. Almost lost it numerous times with the bike swerving all over the place. Couldn't ge traction in a lot of areas either. Is it because I have the wrong bike? I do fine on just dirt but there wasn't a whole lot of it there.    Maybe I need a bigger bike already.

glad for you that you could get out there.  Sand and gravel are no fun to ride in.  I have trouble in it as well.

Agreed. Where I go up north, riding in Sand is a yes until your out to the highway. I ride from the cottage, so it is only a few yards, but it's long enough. Some trails out where I go are all sand, no fun..well..they are, until you hit the sand patched. The road we ride on to get to the trails, is all gravel, so it is nice to hit the dirt.

Came close to that too. Was doin a hill climb too slow and the bike stalled. Looked like an idiot trying to get control, start it back up and do it again.

Our kx100 is harder to ride in gravel and thick sand than the big bikes.

That seems to be the general consensous. Definately gotta get a bigger bike for that type of riding.

Yeah, I was driving the 80 suzuki, so Smaller wheels don't handle as well in that type of stuff.

Sand and deep sand are my favortie types of dirt for playing around in! Wet sand is even better!

The small wheeled bikes really struggle in the sand, we have tons of really soft sand washes in our usual trail riding area and the boys used to struggle pretty bad on the 60's until they got used to it..

like Bill said wet sand is awesome!

Dan im glad you decided to get a bigger bike, you will enjoy it a lot more after you get used to it.

With a 250 i'll be all set an never have to buy another bike again. With my luck i'd buy a 125 and want more power 2 weeks later.
