Alright folks, I need to know this. I went riding today, put my brand new Thor Quadrant boots on (eeek size 14...little long, but not to bad) And I can't ride with them on. I can't do it. I tried a few different things..and I Can't. Is there something special to do? I can shift into 1st, 2nd, 3rd...but then I seem to have mass issues going any higher. Then I always seem to have to keep my toes on my pegs..which I am finding a little uncomfortable. My problem is I am going from hiking boots, like running shoes, just stronger, to these clonkers. So let me know if there is a trick. I might take them back, and try some Alpinestar ones I already had on, but these ones were on sale. Helppppp.

First wear them around the house a bit to break them in and get used to them.  Second; you may need to raise the shifter a spline or two on the shaft.  A good rule of thumb is the bottom of the shifter should be about level with the top of the peg or a bit higher.

What bike do you have?  Depending you may want to look into alonger shift lever.  We had to do that on my son's YZ-85.

Okay. Next time out, going to try adjust the shifter up a notch or 2. I am usually always behind my cousin on his JR80, and he has to bring his entire leg out in order to shift up. His foot comes off the peg, and slides under the shifter and up he goes. Kind of funny looking.

DL, I have a CRF230F. 08, but that doesn't make much of a difference. I'm wearing them now. So, it feels funny, but I try to go upstairs a lot..lol.

Still admire the way you slid that in there Chud lmao. Anyway Smash just keep them on and you will get the feel. Braces are the same way.
The fact that you have a smaller bike and big boot will plat a part but as Dave said just a small adjust.

Well they are on right now. Hard to walk in..but not to bad. They should loosen up a bit. I am bbqing right now, so I walk up and down the stairs from inside the house to out back, so they get more flex. Lol.

EDIT: Wow, they feel different already. I've had them on what..hour and a half, and just took them off so I could eat my lunch, and to put them back on and go down stairs, it feels better. I guess this could be all I needed.

Just a little up date here. I went riding today, and they are for sure better then the first time. Shifting is getting easier..foot positioning is still a little hard, I am riding more on the balls of my feet. So jumping, or even going over a steep hill, is now a little weird, but got easier as the day ended. I went through some REALLY deep..like covered my entire front wheel deep..and the boots worked well. I was took them off, and was trying to decide..if the dampness on my jeans was water..or sweat. 5$ on sweat lol.

Now, how do you go amongst cleaning these boots..they got very muddy.

Haha, true that pat.

I found an issue..and it is breaking. My break foot sits awkwardly on the peg, so my foot/ankle was a little sore by the end of the night..but I think that will come with riding.

Smasher, What I do is wash my bike with my boots on and then use the rest of soap and water etc... And wash my boots off, I also will hit them with spray cleaner now and then and dry them well. It helps to keep the boots straps and stitching last.
As well as alittle lighter.

ive never worn mx boots, never owned a pair, but probley wouldnt be a bad idea since the only bone ive ever broke was my ankle while wearin work boots, mx boots would of kept my foot from rolling most likely, though that did teach me not to go from ridin your cousins xr100 to your friends rm125, learned the hard way

u will just have to get use to it.and when u shift pull ur foot back then u will be able to put it down under the shift lever.when u very first start ridin with boots its gonna be wierd cuz u aren't use to it but trust me u will.and u cannot break them in by walkin around in them it wont do u any good because it wont break them in for ridin it will break them in for walking.

Well it did help. I walked around the house for 2 days to loosen them up and it is great. I am use to them now, because I have been riding with them for a good week or more. It's great, I don't get wet or muddy..lol.
