There are quite a few CRFs in the San Diego area. not many Xs.  Just don't know what year to look at. Not familiar with the thumpers.  Budget is 2500-3000 at best.

The 09 was a great bike but there were a couple things that wouldn't harm performance but weren't great like the 4 bolt clutch.

that 05 crf that you listed dag looks awesome! I wouldn't go for the 05 YZF because your gonna have a steel frame.

DR gave a pretty good review of the 09 X.  But that would be out of my price range anyway,  Thanks.
The 05 crf is out now, he wouldn't come down .  Is the steel frame the only issue with the 05 Yam?

I have to keep the 250 for track and fun riding.  But I need a 4 stroke to race longer races and I plan to do a lot of it this year.  I want to taste all types of racing.
Money is still an issue but I am going to get a loan and a night job?  I haven't financed anything since 1996.
