Hey, I just bought a basket case rm 125 that needs a bit of work. First thing I need to know is what year range I can use for a crankshaft, my crank bearing is gone on the rod which I could change the rod but the thread on the flywheel side is only a nut in width, looks like a bunch of thread is missing not sure if I can just use some lock tight with the nut or I need a whole new shaft which you cant apparently get for this year rm 125? There is a hole from the chain coming off the sprocket on the crankcase that was JB welded, I torched the JB weld off and planned on tig welding it...? And need a new bearing for where the shifting drum seats, from a bearing supplier or oem supplier? Thats pretty much what Im looking at for repair , thanks for help in advance.

ya.. sounds like a basket case. as far as the crank,do some simple searching for that year and model other years may work.. not so sure on the tig welding.. all other parts are available from oe or maybe parts suppliers but you will have to do your own searching.

Can anyone tell me if the 2001 rm 125 crank will fit in a 1999 rm 125?
Thanks

No, a 01 will not fit a 99, 96 to 2000.
