yeah kiwi, it was frustrating.  But I think everyone else was frustrated too.  I felt bad about dropping my bike on that switchback and holding up the line.  Kye on the Honda XR400 (#151) apologized to me after the race, for running over my wheels, but I told him it was no big deal, I probably would have done the same     I passed Kye later, then he passed me again when I crashed on the "wall".  I had to pass him one more time after that, then didn't see him until the finish.  This was Kye's first race ever, and he did great!     It's funny because before the race I gave Kye some sage advice: (let the faster guys go by you, then later you'll pass them when they pile up)    Little did I know I was talking about myself!

Nice Paul. That first guy you passed, was he calling you names or politely telling you to go pass?

LOL he was apologizing for cutting me off, then let me pass.  Most of the racers were very polite, and many of them pulled off the trail before I even got close...

Looks like you had fun! I need to get my dad and your other brother to take a road trip up there next year. It shouldn't take but a few days and a couple dozen tanks of gas right? It was fun having you come down here last spring.

Gotta say....  Never get tired of watching your vids Paul.

BTW I would have done the same as Kye but I also would have had a yarn and a laugh with you afterwards.

hey Brian, that would be a blast!  I've got an itinerary of great trails to take you on when and if you ever do make it up here.  I'm coming down there again in the spring, it is the highlight of my riding time each year!

I would expect nothing less from you kiwi  I did have a good laugh with Kye about it afterwards, when he tried to apologize to me.  He was so pleased with himself for finishing the whole race, his first one ever, and looks forward to coming back next year for another go at it.  I think I'm going to start saving up to buy a Rekluse clutch for my bike for next years race, it would be such a huge advantage in the rocks and uphill sections

I am watching one of the vids and my chest started tightening up.  I was feeling the exhaustion.  A GH flashback I guess?
That trail looked fun to joy ride but must have been a monster to race, and have to force yourself to keep going.  It also looked unforgiving with all of the trees and logs, especially the cut logs sticking out.
at least in the desert you have somewhere to land.  Maybe a rock or 2 but no trees.

Paul, call Rekluse and ask them if a 01YZ250F Rekluse Clutch is the same one for your bike. Alot of them are the same. If so I got one for you, pearch ajuster also.
I am not asking for any money so if it works its yours.
