Hey,  so im starting to plan for my race bikes winter rebuild.  I have a 2007 ktm 450sxf.  Well i would like to rebuild the head, ya know replace the valves,  have it clean and ported,  new springs,  and have the valve seats recut and coated.  I just dont have a clue on where i should go to have this done.  Im looking into pro circuit but id like to know what there quality is like also id like to know some more options...
thanks

Pro Circuit does a very good job on engine work. Pro Action is another option, they do good work as well.

I think the 500 includes parts, but im not sure youll have to call them. Im not much of a fourstroke guy, but I think the bronze coating allows the seats to be recut.

I don't know alot about bikes but I had a 03 yz125 and it wouldn't shift in to 2nd gear and all I had to do was buy a new shifter witch didn't cost me to much, but who knows it could be something worse but that might be the problem

do a search in your area, most local shops are trying to make a name for themselves,so more bang for your buck and if somethings not right you can go there and talk face to face.bigger names mean more money, why pay for there advertisment, unless the donation can be written off

The bronze coating is copper thas the seat itself you can get steel seats which will allow you to run a higher octane in your bike so you dnt have to worry about the valve damaging that copper and making your bike back fire on acceleration or wen you give it gas

its a copper berilium valve seat, when your stock head is beatin out of spec from the valves hitting so hard they offer this rather than buy a new head, its about he same dough, but a little more durable.i saw on ebay some shops offering polish and porting services, pretty cheap to,im thinkin about sending my head to um over the winter!and backfiring can be caused by a multitude of senarios, mainly running lean or exhaust leaks.
