Spazmoso, I live in the country.

People don't call the cops because they are so use to hearing fourwheelers/dirtbikes pass by.

It's state property, they don't care if you ride out there, as long as you don't tear their stuff up.

you dont have to look like a pro to have a blast buy helmets new, boots if hardly used would save a ton of cash mabye even let you get a jersey or pants.

Boots=Major protection from rocks from tires etc
Gloves=Warmth+Better grip and great protection from rocks kicking up Also trees and thorns

Goggles are pretty much a must have essential rocks to the eyes hurt, bugs, dust etc

Long sleeve shirt is needed
Jeans are also needed.

For jumping

Helmet
Neck brace are life savers : )

Bong Recreation area is a good one for easy trails, it's closed right now because they're redoing it. Fox Valley Off road is ok, I've only been there once, and didn't explore to far because a lot of the trails are more technical, big inclines and declines. Those are teh only two I know of. I went to Buffalo Offroad once, but they are closed now.

I would not consider a helmet as optional, its the most important piece (in my opinion, of course...).
