You would save a lot of money on used. The ttr and 150f are pretty solid bikes even used.

Ok, sand is definately not its strong suit, its sits low and the rear wheel is small it really just gets thrown around. Whats your price range? We sold our 07 ttr125le for 1600.00 las year and it was in great condition.

What kind of sand are we talking? If you're hoping for some heavy dune riding, the TTR is not the bike for you...

The TTR is not going to have enough power to get you through dunes....around the bottoms maybe, but it won't get you very high...it's do-able, but it will be a struggle and a lot of clutch/throttle control on your part.
