Thats sweet, does anyone know yet if the same "tuner" will work with future models?
meaning 2011 and newer, 450 and 250? is there a USB port on the tuner for firmware/software upgrades? or is it a one model one year type thing?

Well when I used to tune my Firebird, the tuner would work for multiple years, so I'm sure they will implement the same technology in this, it's essentially the same thing.

did you buy the tuner from GM?

I've seen MFG specific tuners that can only be used on specific models and years, sometimes the tuner reads the vin and will only mod that vehicle.

No, it was an aftermarket tuner. But updating the tuner is as easy as plugging it in and updating new software. So I'm sure this tuner will be able to update to a newer bike. As for using it for different models, that just depends on if it's an afermarket tuner or not. Anything can be modded, even these tuners, so I don't see why not. If it were me though, I would just hook a laptop up to it with the same software that tuner is using. Back in the day, I didnt have the software resources to do so on my car, but these days, your laptop can do the exact same thing that unit is doing.

Tim.. I am only asking about the OE yamaha tuner, im very well aware about the aftermarket automotive tuners and current adaptability of software. like I said previously (and im not asking you to answer this) will this unit work on future YZ EFI models?
