tomma, something aint right, a VIN # on the steering neck is supposed to be 17 digits. isnt some of the numbers worn out or something? i cant really tell from the pic but it looks like anything in the 90's.

Strange...That looks like an engine number aswell.
A engine number normally should have 11 digits
A frame or VIN # should have 17 digits.
The first digit os the VIN # is the letter the manufacturer's name starts with. like Y for Yamaha.

Oh wait im sorry, the first letter is the first letter of the country's name where the bike was manufactured like J for Japan, and the 2nd one is the manufacturer's 1st letter like Y for Yamaha

looks like a 91 or so to me but 89-93 plastics will fit it
