im moving up from my 125 and thinking about buy this 2001 rm250. it seems to be an ok deal nothing too great. $900 bucks. it'll need top end rebiult kit and most likey honed/bored very slight im sure the cylinder is scored. BUT my main concern is the bottom end. I've never touched the bottom end of a bike and hope i never do, but how do i no that its in ok shape. The guy already has the cylinder off so i will have some access to the bottom end before buying it. Only thing I now is to make sure there is no up and down movment from the crank/connecting rod. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The 2 stroke guys can help you with this 18c5 as soon as they see it. Do you know the guy and trust him? Is the oil still in the bottom end? Can you see any hot spots on anything?
