Well after riding/racing for awhile I have found the the normal chest protector and pads in the ridding pants just dont seem to be keeping me from coming to work next day without black and blue marks. "I know I'm a sissy". I want to get something with more padding maybe with gel. I have been starting to ride faster and now that leads to crashing harder. What is in the market that is good stuff???
Thanks

If you want  a really padded chest protector, check out the RXR, its air filled and you can pump it up yourself. I bought one and its a littel bulky(not too bad) but it is said to absorb %30 more impact and it does. RXR Organic chest protector is the name and they look pretty cool as well.

Mike is right. He sent me his RXR to try out (thankyou very much) and it works good. I am done testing it so I could send it to you to try out with Mikes permision, that is if he dose not need it for the 24 hour GH race.

As far as hip pads, Shock Doctor, SixSixOne, EVS are a few you can check out that make padded under shorts.

pojp58I love this dirt stuff.

What are you wearing now?  That will help get some better recommendations.

Is it roost doing it or crashes?

I wear EVS Burly Elbow/forearm guards under my jersey which help with roost and crashes.

For my knees I use HRP XT Knee Shin Gurads.  These offer a larger knee cup and good padding (and don't interefere with my boots latching at the top).

I also use their Flak Jak II LT (for leatt brace) with its optional rib guard.

For boots I use Garene SG-10; they also have good support and impact protection.

You can't totally eliminate bumps/bruises etc, but the above does a good job for me.

Also, a good helmet, gloves and googles are a must as well.

I have sixsixone hard chest protector now. When I bought my bike I tried to purchase the best gear the shop had but the hard chest protector is all they had. The gear is all good but I would like something better for the upper body part. For example at last Sundays GNCC race at Power line when I was riding beyound my ability due to my lousy start "next to last from not having tranny warm and bike didnt start in gear with the new rekluse, rookie mistake" I was 333 out of 334 racers off the line. I hit a tree just with my arm/shoulder and knocked wind out of me. I thought then "I need to buy some better stuff". Most of the riding/racing I do is Harescrambles, the riding I do is mostly practicing for them. I will check out all the above.
Thanks again

I also have an EVS BJ22 Ballistic Jacket which is chest, back, shoulder, and arm protection in one with a built in kidney belt.

It can be hot when standing still but not too bad when moving.  My biggest issue with it is getting my Leatt to fit (it doesn't).
