Hey ya'll, I got a big problem, I have a 2007 kx250, and I run EBS brake pads, well when my back brakes heat up they don't fade out, they completely stop working, I change the fluid everytime I ride now, and the only thing I can think of is that the EBS pads I used to replace the stockers are just crap and allowing too much heat to pass to the caliper, has anyone else experienced this problem? I have heard that Moose makes a real good set of pads that have a coating to prevent excess heat from passing to the caliper anyone used these?

I have been using EBC MX-S pads since 96 and have never had this problem. Which model are you running and are you draging the rear brake? All brakes, but carbon in particular, can only work until they reach a certain temperature at that point they will stop working. And yes carbon brakes do generate less heat and transfer less heat than sintered but when they reach there brake energy limit they are done.
If you have been dragging the rear brake you might try deglazing the rotor this might help some.

I ride south eastern woods, and I'm constantly on the back brake, the pedal is a little high though and it's adjusted all the way down, the only way I can get it lower is to cut a few threads off the brake bolt.I have been trying to adjust my riding style, by not using the rear brake so much, as I tend to steer with the back wheel, and use my front brake to set up for turns. But this has caused me to ride overly cautious and slows me way down. I was thinking about getting one of those Devol caliper coolers but I don't think they make one for the KX250, has anyone used Braking calipers? I am also considering replacing my caliper, as well as the rotors.

I can't recall the make now, but there are some brake pads that are temperature resistant for use like you are describing (DR tested them awhile back).
I'll try and do some looking but you can try a google serach and see what turns up.
