I don't get why it was l;ocked either. I'm sure it had more to do with just woods posting in it. If they locked every thread he posted in there wouldn't be a whole lot of open threads. Me thinks a public explanation would be good.

I locked it.  Look at the last two posts in it.  It wasn't going to get any better from there.

There aren't going to be any posts flaring up like there has recently.

Feel free to start another or join in on any you want to.  As for monitoring, I know of 3 admins and about 5 moderators, so there is ample coverage now.

one thing I did learn by running a message board is you can not ban any one they can get around everything you try. if you let the dust settle then things get back to normal. yes I would really like to know just what evil yzwoods did to rate life banishment?

There are ways of banning people but not with this boards software. I used to moderate on another board and the owner madfe software for a living and made special hacks that banned a persons attempt to sign on when their IP showed up. Her was also able to make their posts invisible to everyone but themselves so that they thought they were talking to everyone in the forums but in reality they were talking to themselves lol.

the are servers that shuffle IP's in the thousands you go to the site and it uses a different one each time. it would be only a matter of time before they caught on that they are talking to them self and they simple make a new email account a new name and use a IP shuffling server to get back on as long as they behave they start over fresh or simply make a lot of trouble and start over again and again and again.

As always, I'm happy to explain people's bans/etc via PM. I've offered this before concerning recent events and had zero response from some of the members who are complaining here. Hamblin and the other moderators are doing a great job keeping the site on track so give them some credit, please.

Thanks!
