I have a 2006 KTM 450 SX that has 20 hours on it, It has always backfired a little since I bought it new. But it seems to be getting worse. I have checked the valves and they are good. I herd that they come too lean from the factory. Do I need to lean it up or what do I do.

1998 cr125 its better to own nothing worldly and still have your identity then have the world and no identity ---------------------------------------"We were born of the night. We live in it. We will die in it. But tomorrow there will be light, for those now crying in the night. For those to whom day is denied. To whom death is a gift. To whom life is forbidden."

backfiring and runnin hot are common symptoms of running lean, pick the needle up a notch mabye bump up a jet size or 2.my buddy like to run a octane booster in his gas when i use this i can boil over like nothin did you change gas?think about what youve done different before messin with the carb.also remember the original settings so you can start at square 1 if you dont get the fix on the first try

DR recomened raising the needle, dont remember which one of the MANY ktm articles but all of them say the same thing. leaking air into the exhaust system will cause the same problem. New pipe? check all gaskets and connection points
