my front brake does not relieve the pressure when i have it built up. i will be riding and then the front tire will wash out because the front wheel wont spin. i think it might be the master cylinder. maybe something is screwed up in there. and another problem. i tried starting it today and it was cold out, so it took a long time.. idk but it just boggs and boggs. spark plug maybe?

2001 rm125. the bearings are fine. the pads are fine. the rotors suck. but the problem is in either the caliper or the master cylinder. the pressure just wont go back down after i let go of the brake lever.

you need to clean your caliper the piston(s)are sticking due to rust or dirt take the piston(s)out and clean them with a brass wire wheel and clean the caliper good and reassemble the caliper this should solve your problem.

new fluid in the system too, just bleed out the ol' and add new and bleed until its full of fluid with no air bubles. I hope he gets it Gator, I love working on stuff even if it isn't needing repair. I always grease the slide pins on my bikes too cuz they stick and make one pad wear and the other doesn't. Mud and pressure washing takes a toll on that stuff.

my school shop teacher suggested it might be the master cylinder since the fluid can build pressure but no fluid is returning back to the master cylinder. its not the caliper because i fix it by relieving the presssure in the caliper by unscrewing that screw and giving it a pump on the lever.

i just went to ebay and bought a new one that was 20 bucks. the kit was 25 bucks. any my master cylinder cover was messed up and cracked a little and the screws were stripped real bad by the previous owner. i just hope that was the problem.

maby but like i said i woul have done the caliper first because when you un screwed (that screw) its called a bleeder screw all you did was relieved the pressure off of the caliper and had nothing to do with the master cylaynder. also when you loosend the bleeder screw and pulled the lever you filled your complete brake system with air (not good) now you need to bleed the brakes. only the brakes your working on.
sorry to say this but in my opinion you should have cleaned the caliper first.i think you will find thats the problem.
remember as a rule of thumb always start with the cheapest and simpilest options first youl save loads of money.
hey sorry dude i guess i didnt understand your post correctly did you buy a master cylaynder or a caliper rebuild kit.
hopefully a caliper kit.

no no no thats not wat i want. what i want is for you to get your bike fixed so you can ride.and the other thing i want is for the new master cylaynder to take care of the problem so you dont have to spend anymore cash.
