We went through the break in process and rode it hard on Sunday. When we did a compression check today we only got 122 psi with a borrowed tester from the auto parts store. We had the throttle held wide open. Any reasons why?

Your base gasket and head gasket thickness will be determined by the stamp from the factory on your jug, and or your piston. Call the dealer and ask which gaskets you are supposed to use with that particular engine stamp code

We actually did bring the cylinder to them and they told us which gasket to use so I dont think thats the problem. Any other ideas?

hows the powervalve? is it stuck open??? try your compression test with the throttle closed, and also try with a few drops of two-cycle oil in the plug hole then test again. Compare readings and find out what is within the service limits.

Its ok. I just cant think of whats wrong. It only went up 3 psi but you can feel it has more compression just pushing the kickstarter with your hand

you could check the reeds, and break in procedure calls for 30 minutes of no load or high rpms. then gradually increasing it for a period after warming the engine up. The exhaust power valve might be the culprit. check ktmtalk.com
