We are going to field at least one team. If more people want to ride and can pay 80 bucks for gas and entry fee we would like to have another team or 2. The more the merrier.
We want to film the pit life and race for a DVD to give to Potential sponsors. We also want to open a web site for AS IS Racing with racing pic, video and pages with links to information on Autism, Asperger's,Downs Syndrome, Diabetes , and maybe others. The idea is no one is prefect we have to accept each other As Is.
Lori at Glen Helen has given us permission to camp at Glen Helen as long as we need to. She seems very nice. She has also given us permission to film the race for our DVD and web site.
At this point we can afford to post one team's entry fee, If the riders are able to pay it back good, if not fine.
If anyone else wants in you will need $80 for gas and entry. The gas will be California high octane which I think is 91 proof. If you want better gas you need to bring it with you.
We want to get adjoining pits and make one big pit out of it so that we can help one another out.
There are toilets on the property, with running water, and I hope we can get a toy hauler for the race.
food and such will have to be worked out later, probably another "bring your own meat" deal.
At this time we have 6 riders planning to come. We want more! http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=131784983997 http://twitter.com/AS_IS_Racing
250 team Hella Sully POP MJ Daggit Pin
450 team Six5 spidy Kramer Bill Oliver The last rider hasn't confirmed yet.

Here's the link for anyone interested: http://www.glenhelen.com/newWWW/calendar.asp?eID=1001
Hey Thomas, I was going to suggest a toy hauler. I would definitely split the cost with whomever is interested. You can get them for about $300 for a weekend. Split that 6 ways (or more) and it's pretty cheap. I'll even pick it up and drive it. I just need to get a brake controller for my truck.
Who are the 6 riders so far?

Dag, what class would we run in? I mean I am the only one who rides a 450 out of all of us? The 250 2strokes run in the same class as the 450's right?

There is 250- and 250+ it is on the flyer 6-5 posted I think. I am not sure, am talking to someone that has a nice thumper for sale. We may be running a 250/2 during daylight and a 450/4 at night. That would be odd. Team 2 would also need to get some bikes together.

I really want to do it, Thomas. One slight problem I see is me riding someone else's bike, because of my size/weight. And for that matter, if I used my bike, other people might have a hard time riding mine.

Dag thats a steal for $2500! Really it is. If you had a 450 for the race why would you run a 2stroke in the day and a 4stroke at night? Why not ride the 450 all race long?
6-5 I am 6'2" so you are not that much taller then me?

I noticed that too. My '05 YZ250 has an aluminum frame, so one would assume that the thumpers would have it too. But that bike does look pretty clean.
