Sweet bike!
Check out chaparral's website and check on there closeout products, they have boots on there from past years for less than $100.

You just got the best bike in the world. It's so much fun! 2001 is still pretty easy to find parts for, for now. Soon it'll be harder to find cylinders, etc if you ever need that sort of thing. Anyway, the Chaparral website is a good place to go. There are big mail order ads in DR all the time with good deals from them. I'm looking at the current issue right now and i see O'neal Element boots and Ocelot SX3 boots for under $100. If you jump up to the $200 range you'll have a lot more to choose from and the comfort and support will be much better.
Or, you can just do this and be dialed in:

I agree the 125 is a great bike and lots of fun to ride.
One thing I do recommend is really trying to get to a store wher eyou can try on sizes. I've had some issues with fox being a size too big, thor being too small and fly seems to be right. If you can, trying on some different style and brands will really help you get a better idea of what your ordering online. Goodluck

It pains me to agree with Jesse, but do yourself a favor and budget for $200 boots and you can get some great boots. I've been testing Alpinestars Tech 3, AXO Dart and Fox Comp 5 boots in the sub-200 dollar range for the last several rides - that's retail price I'm talking about.
If you've never worn riding boots before, I suspect the Fox Comp 5 would be your best bet - very comfortable and non-restrictive boot. Not as 'serious' as the other two.
And yes, try on before you buy.

Ya have never worn boots just the 50/50 atv boots. What chest protector would you guys recommend. What makes them worth 200$, when a 50$ looks the same?

A far as chest protectors go I like the ones that give the most coverage to the ribs. That might be because I brook a few of them before. The Fox comp boots are good and comfortable but the strapes are cheap. Bought a pair for my son for the 24 hour and the strap broke first ride. Called Fox for a new set, they haven't sent them yet. Thor Quadrant boots are a good place to start IMO. There good boots for under $100.
There are many different kinds of gear out there but IMO get the best you can get with the money you have and upgrade as you go. In the end wear one of everything.
