im wanting to buy a kx 85 to play around with in the yard, do they have a lot of power stock

Yes a fair bit of power.
We had an 02 about 3 years ago and I think the book quoted around 27 horse power.
They have the nicest power delivery of all the japanese 85's having power from low down all the way to the top making them smooth and tractable.
Most of the top pro's started out on kx85's

yes, they will have a lot of power for someone who is new to the sport or has ridden smaller bikes before.
