Hi,
Just read the KTM article in the DR internet page and was inspired to join up.
I am middle aged kid who never grew up. I used to read Dirt Rider back in the mid 80s when I used to ride a Cr-500 R which I still have. I do most of my own wrenching on my bikes..still not fond of tire changes.
I ride a roadking to work almost every day but have found my little KTM to be a real blast to push my limits on.
I have returned to the mag and to the dirt. I have a KTM 200 Exc and after all these years I have a dirt bike with a license plate.
The KTM EXC is bad ass for the tight trails, my back yard and snowy roads of new England. When my driveway loads up with wet leaves in the fall, the ktm is a stand on the pegs, figure eight powerslide machine. The dirt pile at the edge of town has my initials in it from my back wheel.
On the roads the small ktm runs out of steam at higher speeds but in the tight stuff has very usable power and super suspension.
I am thinking about a bigger EXC for more mid range and higher speeds.
see you around..watch my roost

Hey Popeye - welcome to DR forums, and I agree with mjp - nice intro.
I have an XC-W 250, but I don't push it anywhere near its limits like you do. It's a great machine for the rocks, roots and mud of New England. Where are you from? We seem to have quite a few folks here from MA. Are you a NETRA guy?

Welcome POPEYE. With a name like that you must have been in the Navy? Were you on a ship? I was in Bath Maine for a year for a ship overhaul.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and looking foward to your input.

I love this dirt stuff.

Was not in the Navy but spent 5 years wrenching and maintenance engineering on copters. I do higlhy respect and appriciate all the branches of mil service. Have a nephew in the Navy and 2 cousins in the Navy and a soon to be Marine if he keeps his poop together in high school.
Now in the Yachting service industry.
Thanks for the welcome
Looks like a great forum where we all have the same dirt in our blood.

Hi Popeye, I went riding at BMMP yesterday and the place was crawling with KTM's. It was obviously the bike of choice for trail riding.
