When I was 7, I used to ride a little honda 70, we had to sell it due to family problems. My dad at the time had a cr85 that I rode more than the 70. Although my feet didn't come close to touching the ground, I still rode, and loved it.
Im now looking to get a dirt bike, and would like to get a 2 stroke.
My question is, what size should I start out on? Im 6'3 170 something.
I was thinking something like a 1998 CR250 or 1998 CR125

Start with a used 125 and see how it does for you. There is quite a difference in power from a 125 to a 250 so it would be a lot harder re-learning to ride on a 250. A 125 has plenty of play around power and if not, you can resell the bike after a year and get pretty much the same price.
2 strokin till I die. Which I hope aint soon.

As stated above the 125 would be a good place to start again.

Same story as me, glad to see you are getting back into it, I'm glad I did.

If money is no object, then pick the make, year and model, and shoot from the hip and make the purchase.
I would suggest you check the used market and find a deal.
You should start out slow and get back into it a a safe pace.
A full blown motocross bike might be too big a step right off the bat. especially a 2-stroke.
You might want to get back into it on a more gentle machine.
A MX is geared and built for full power, balls to the wall where a trail bike will have a wider ratio and power band.
the newer MX machines are light years ahead of the old 70 and 85....If you are a quick learner and ride with some experiened friends go with a MX
in search of the perfect dirt pile
