Just bought this bike and am going through everything. I just looked at the reeds and they look brand new, they are carbon fiber. Can anyone tell me the type of reeds I might have? Thanks

what kind of bike? Are you asking the question because they are carbon fiber?

Its a 2000 Honda Cr125, I am asking just to know what I might have. I did some research and it seems that Boyesen makes three different types of reeds, is there a way to distinguish? Thanks, I will try to post pictures later.

I'm not familiar with the Honda CR's that much, but stock YZ reeds (late model) are carbon fiber from the factory.

open a photobucket account. get the url from there and click reply to thread. click the little yellow square at the top of the box and paste the url there.
for some reason when I do it iI ave to go back and delete the img at the beginning and the end because it has w sets, but that is just me I think.

Those look like stock reeds to me, lots of OE reeds are carbon fiber. it that a chip in the top left corner? replace them if chipped or warped (not sealing flush with the reed cage)

Thanks I didn't even notice that the reed had a chip...
Since I have to buy new ones and am looking for good mid but great top end power, I have seen two types that look good. The Boyesen Power reeds or Carbon tech ht's, can someone tell me which is better for what I need? Thanks

Im running the Boyesen pro series reeds, really not a big difference from the stock carbon fiber reeds.. overrev seemed a little better. dont expect big changes no matter which reeds you choose

-Carbon Tech are good reeds if you have a specific place in the power band you need a little help with but there will be a trade off. -I too like the Boyesen Pro Series, I use them on my bike, they seem to do a better overall job with the power band than single layer reeds.
***Nice Job spotting the chip***
